The Group-Philippines Basketball Association (SGA) defeated Malaysia 106-98 to earn its sixth victory in the 44th William Jones Cup.

The team’s impressive interior presence and clutch baskets contributed to the victory. SGA had an early 9-0 lead and then increased it to 14 points. Chun Hong Ting and Steven Green of Malaysia both scored 17 points.

However, a single-digit deficit at the half resulted from turnovers in the second quarter. With a 31–17 burst in the third quarter, SGA recovered and now leads 87–64. In the fourth quarter, Green persisted and attempted to lead Malaysia, which led to a 20–10 rally.

With 22 seconds remaining, Ravena and NCAA Most Valuable Player Allen Liwag completed a triple to give SGA the victory.

DJ Fenner led the squad with 20 points off 7 of 10 shots, while six other players scored in double figures.

Kouame and Chiu, two of SGA’s big men, controlled the boards; Chiu finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks.

Ting concluded with 24 marks, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Green of Malaysia finished with 50 points and 8 rebounds.
